  • The photographs are beyond our wildest dreams and I will cherish these forever.

"Sarah, where do I start. To be honest, I always knew based off her portfolio that the finished outcome would be spectacular but what I wasn’t expecting was that we would spend the day with such a lovely down to earth and welcoming person, who would make the day so memorable. She gave us direction without being pushy which was great for us as she knew the style we wanted to achieve. She was warm and chatty and someone that we just felt comfortable around. We even invited her for a drink with us ant the end of the shoot to celebrate the day we had and mark the occasion. And yes, as expected the photographs are beyond our wildest dreams and I will cherish these forever." - Sally & Mark, Wedding Photography

  • She worked with me so diligently on my vision.

“Sarah Jean did my branding photography for my Hot Yoga/Pilates studio and honestly they are better than I imagined. She worked with me so diligently on my vision and even on shoot day she tried so many things to achieve the best photos. She also made us so comfortable. Unreal.” - Bailey Bertucelli, Owner, The 108 Studio

  • Sarah was an absolute dream from start to finish.

“She photographed one of my yoga classes followed by our sea dip & sauna. The photos capture more than a moment in time, they capture a feeling. The entire process was extremely professional and discrete. Yoga photographs can be awkward as you don't want the class to be disturbed, but I honestly wouldn't have known she was there; she moved like a ninja. Sarah made sure that everyone was comfortable throughout the morning. All my students were were blown away by the final photos and extremely complimentary of Sarah on a personal level too. Just a lovely person to spend the morning with. I can't thank Sarah enough for bringing that extra little bit of joy into our class!” - Amy Lutton, Owner, Roots Yoga

  • You can tell Sarah put a lot of work into understanding our brand, our personalities and what we wanted to achieve.

“The work Sarah did for us was essential to market our online membership through our social channels, tell the story of our brand and services on our website as well as online membership pages. Her photography is so beautiful that I have used it on the new edition of my book (including covers) and it has been used in features in local publications such as Living North, NE Times, Stylist and High Life North. We cannot recommend Sarah more and will definitely work with her again in the future.” - Vera Powles, Owner, We Rise Studio

Photographing the feeling

I believe photography is more than just capturing how things look - it's about discovering and preserving a feeling

With over a decade of passion for photography and a background in yoga, counselling, and psychology, my work is deeply rooted in understanding people and the stories they carry.

  • As a photographer, I’m endlessly drawn to details: the interplay of light, tones, and textures, and how they connect the subject to its audience to tell a larger story. On location, I love working with natural light to create emotive images that feel alive and full of meaning. In the studio, my focus narrows to textures, the play of shadows, and capturing interesting angles that add depth and character.

Grounded in a sense of real connection, my style incorporates an editorial flair, creating images that feel both honest and beautifully curated.

  • My process is all about building genuine connections and creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable being themselves. I take the time to listen to each person’s story, ideas, and vision for the shoot. By understanding what matters most to them, I can reflect their individuality and bring their unique story to life.

I see every shoot as a collaboration. I encourage people to share their thoughts and be an active part of the creative process - it makes the final images feel so much more personal and meaningful. I also pay close attention to the in-between moments: the natural laughter, quiet glances, and unguarded interactions that reveal true emotions and connections. These moments are the heart of my work and what makes each session feel alive and authentic.

Drawing on my background in yoga, counselling, and psychology, I bring a deep sense of empathy and understanding to every session. I know being in front of the camera can feel intimidating, so I create a warm, relaxed environment where people feel at ease. This allows me to capture not just the moments, but the emotions and stories behind them.

  • My approach on set is intuitive and collaborative, allowing moments to evolve organically. I create space for natural interactions to unfold, letting the flow of the moment guide the shoot. I focus on subtle details to bring depth and authenticity to my work.

I like to keep things as organic as possible. My goal is to celebrate people as they are, without forcing them into poses or settings that don’t feel true to them. This flexible, collaborative approach - combined with my attention to storytelling - transforms feelings into imagery that truly resonates.

“There was such attention to detail which delighted all of us when we revisited our precious memories to find that nothing was missed”

The magic of photography isn’t just about how things look -
it’s about how they feel.
